Apart from some tremendous local walks, National Trails like the Cleveland, Ebor and Wolds Ways and the Coast to Coast as well as the Lyke Wake Walk start and finish in North Yorkshire.
Of course when you come and stay you will need to eat! In North Yorkshire we take a great deal of pride in the food we sell and serve. Our range of extremely dedicated local producers have turned back the clock to produce a variety and quality of food seldom found elsewhere.
Yorkshire chefs including Brian Turner, James Martin and perhaps most famously Marco Pierre White if not currently working in Yorkshire have left a legacy of good food and convivial hospitality which can be enjoyed by all.
Andrew Pern who owns the Michelin Starred Star Inn at Harome ('Still twinkling bright in the firmament, this aptly named Star's reputation precedes it... the acclaimed cooking is a celebration of the pub's Yorkshire roots.' Michelin 2008) has decided to stay in Yorkshire and uses local produce and suppliers to create some truly amazing dishes.
